How Sweet It Is
3 concerts of James Taylor, at 3 different periods: the 1st is recorded in acoustic solo, in a club in 1970, at the very beginning of his career. The 2nd in 1981 during the Daddy loves his work tour in Atlanta and the 3rd in 1986 for German TV (in Baden Baden) during the That's why I'm here tour: Taylor returned to the front of the stage in good shape after difficult years, a divorce and addictions from which he emerged. What first jumps to the ears is the excellent sound quality for the 3 CDs, a joy to listen to. Then, the songs are wonderful, Taylor is a very great composer, perhaps too little known in France, who knows how to show a lot of humor on stage. It's simple, on the 3rd concert, there are practically only hits: You can close your eyes, Sweet baby James, Your smiling Face, Mexico and delectable covers that he appropriates like Everyday or How sweet it is! Finally, like all great artists, he knows how to surround himself with great musicians: in this box we meet old fellow travelers, Leland Sklar and Don Grolnick among others. This box set is a good way for fans to complete their collection and for others to discover this sincere and warm artist. It's the perfect complement to the brilliant double Live from 1993, the album that allowed me to discover James Taylor and from which I still haven't recovered!

Lots of tunes I already had on other CDs, but hey! It's James and friends!"
