As legendary a group as any that existed during the golden age of rock music, Queen remain as popular today as ever they did during their most successful years. And despite extraordinary frontman Freddie Mercury having tragically passed on almost 30 years ago, their classic songs and uplifting albums are as much a part of the 21st Century s soundtrack as they were in the second half of its predecessor. In honour of Queen s ongoing achievements this triple disc collection brings together a number of the finest broadcast recordings that emerged from the band during their career in the 1970s and 1980s.

Most people will purchase this for the Hyde Park 1976 show...a legendary concert. Here we have it in full and to date probably as good as it gets. It starts with the taped Bohemian Rhapsody intro to which the full band come in for the rock section. Like all tapes and cds of this show the vocals fail for first few seconds before Freddie comes in in full glory. The band are on fire for this free show with great versions of Ogre Battle, The Prophet's Song etc. Although supposedly broadcast be a London radio station this sounds as if it comes fromantic the film of the show which is often shown at the conventions. Many Japanese bootlegs exist of this show from the infamous audience recording on Marc Records up to latter day productions on cd of the full show
